I was in Rhode Island and wanted to buy perfume to associate it with my impressions of the Island.
I always try to visit local boutique stores in the tourist areas wherever I go, because it gives me a sense of what exactly represents this city.
I often find some interesting skincare brand or line that I’ve never seen or tried before, which aroma seductively create the moment of bonding between me and the place. It will manifest fragrance memories.
I found a store Primavera on Bowen’s Warf that specializes in jewelry, handmade glass and also interesting skincare products and brands.
Shelf with TOCCA perfume caught my eye, and since all perfume series have pastel colors I’ve chosen blue by association with blue ocean that surrounds Rhode Island.
Perfume Emilia captivated me immediately with subtle yet sophisticated fragrance and brought my imagination to the early 1920s.
Fresh and floral notes invoked the spirit of young and adventurous women who are not afraid to explore the world. Probably visiting Rhode Island’s mansions already helped me with those gilded age feelings.
I wasn’t able to pinpoint key notes and it was a good sign since I have tendency to fall in love with perfume in which I couldn’t immediately identify notes. Although this perfume associated in my memory with uniqueness of Rhode Island, I love to wear EMELIA while I’m on the road to create atmosphere of world’s explorer in me and refresh my wanderlust spirit.
