May 13,2018 "Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet." Rodger Miller
We were indecisive about our little trip on Fire Island with our little ones. Forecast says it’s going to be rain. Wish to get our dogs to explore the world, beach in this case, bring us to realization that expecting the rain and get in the rain is not the same, so it shouldn’t stopped us.
While we were driving in the car, everything around was grey-ishly pretty, yes there is a beauty in every kind of weather. As soon as we stepped out, chilly wind from open ocean made us shiver with thought : Ok, maybe fast and short walk instead of planned full excursion , dogs with their thick furs seems didn’t care though.
Alright, we thought, we are already here, let’s not being a sissy and go for walk. I took my camera Nikon D5 (it’s required additional consideration just because camera along weight a tons) and we went straight to the beach. That was exact moment when rain decided to showed up too. Drizzle is often worse that shower, always seems unstoppable, it keeps coming and coming until you’ll get soak through. This time wasn’t an exemption.
People, who were on the beach, walked towards us rushing to their cars but we bravely faced adventure, despite the fact that we could barely keep up with our dogs enthusiastic run! We did let Atheas and Theo off leash. There was a moment when they’re couldn’t really apprehend freestyle run opportunity, but just for a moment. They’re run indeed! If we could’ve blast Tom Petty “Free Fallin” on the beach, that would’ve been soundtrack of their freedom.
First I thought I could somehow keep them away from water, but what a naive thinking of me. They went all in!
Pictures speak for itself... so here you go. Our boys are being a boys. And Rain? What rain?
Happiness on their sleeping faces on the way back home, worth every trouble we’ll get later, such as sand in our car, sand in our home...basically everywhere. #lifewithdogs #corgis #corgisnation
