Fall Fragrances. L'ombre Dans L'eau

Autumn happened very suddenly. It’s already October but we keep asking ourselves: What the heck? Why is it so chilly outside?

Hello?! Because it’s time for boots and jackets. It’s also time for fragrances that are associated with colder weather.

Fragrances that have notes like rose, musk, vetiver, sandalwood. Well, at least it’s my association.

I’ll be choosing for myself, depending on weather, Izia by Sisley, Royal Princess Oud by Creed and L’ombre Dans L'eau by Diptyque more often now.

All three have a common major note - 🌹 Rose.

Izia has the most recognizable scent of roses. However, I wouldn’t put Royal Princess Oud and L’ombre Dans L'eau on the same shelf since my nose doesn’t immediately recognize roses.

The most exciting perfume for me is L’Ombre Dans L'eau. Though it was created in 1983, I discovered it only last year. Somehow, Diptyque bottle design didn’t appeal to me at all, so it left them out of my interest for quite a while.

I had a sampler in my travel purse forever and when I tried to minimize my traveling accessories I just simply asked myself whether I should throw it right away or give it a chance to impress me.

Just one splash on my wrist made me fall in love with this perfume. Absolutely hypnotic fragrance, so sensual and seductive, I couldn’t force myself to stop smelling it.

Based on uniqueness of marriage between blackcurrant leaves and floral intensity of Bulgarian roses, this fragrance makes my imagination to paint starry night, lush riverside secret garden with overgrown bushes of roses where two passionate lovers making love on the bed made out moss and fallen roses petals.

Hmm… Maybe I should turn those images of my imagination into real painting?

This fragrance is rejuvenating, provoking and sexy! I feel invigorated when I wear it.
